Hilda and the Troll - Luke Pearson

I will admit that I didn't actually know what this was until I saw the show on Netflix. I was intrigued by the animation (and the fact that Bella Ramsey voices Hilda- let my Worst Witch obsession continue!), but upon watching it, I instantly fell in love with the universe and stories. So amazing. Since I love the show so much, I of course had to read the comics as well.

This one is adorable and magical and amazing and I just love it so much. It is everything I love in graphic novels. Perfect collaboration of artwork and text. Amazing visuals and adorable dialogue. I just love Hilda so much. She is such an amazing character.

While the show follows the books pretty closely at this point, I still enjoyed seeing the original artwork and experiencing Hilda's universe in all forms. Still a really interesting read even if you have already seen the first episode of the show.

At the end of the book is a page from Trolls and Other Dangerous Creatures, a Wood Man comic, and some early sketches and concepts. It was really interesting to see some of the original designs and ideas.

Fascinating read. I love delving into the world of Hilda. I cannot wait to read the next book, especially since I love the Midnight Giant storyline.
